Participation at the EU Contact Committee Meeting
The representatives of SAO Croatia attended the EU Contact Committee meeting held in Floriana, Malta, on 19 and 20 November 2025.
The European Union Contact Committee brings together the heads of Supreme Audit Institutions of all EU member states and the European Court of Auditors, while SIGMA and the Supreme Audit Institutions of the candidate countries for accession to the European Union participate as active observers.
This year's theme of the meeting, "EU Competitiveness - a Strategic Challenge for the EU and its Member States", was elaborated through two days discussions on how the European Union can strengthen productivity, innovation and resilience in a rapidly changing global environment.
During the meeting, representatives of the Supreme Audit Institutions shared insights from their national audit work on public investment, energy security, labour market skills, innovation and digitalisation, the performance of EU funds audits and discussed how Supreme Audit Institutions can best support increased competitiveness at national and EU level. The meeting was concluded with the formal handover of the Contact Committee chairmanship to the French Cour des Comptes for 2026, confirming the commitment of the European audit community to promoting good governance, efficient public spending and a more competitive European Union.
