IX. Integrity seminar

From 7 to 9 March 2022 the State Audit Office of the Republic of Hungary organized the IX. Integrity seminar, with a special focus on the ability of public sector institutions to resist corruption.

The purpose of this international seminar was to provide information to INTOSAI and its regional and other organizations on initiatives taken to prevent corruption, both at the international level and at the level of member SAIs.

As last year's winner of the Solidus Award for his contribution to the development and work of the State Audit Office of the Republic of Hungary and its international reputation, Mr. Ivan Klešić, Auditor General of the Republic of Croatia, was invited to give a presentation at the plenary seminar. The presentation summarized the development of the EUROSAI Ethics Network, and the role of the State Audit Office of the Republic of Croatia in preventing corruption, both in its own work and in promoting the resilience of public sector institutions to corruption threats.

The first day of the seminar focused on the concept of integrity, and discussed how to identify and resolve ethical dilemmas. The theoretical content is complemented by interactive group work. Prior to the seminar, participants also attended a 5-module e-course on integrity, through which they learned the basics of the approach to integrity and applied their knowledge in practical exercises.

On the second day of the seminar, the participants got acquainted with the integrity audit and the possibility of self-testing of integrity.
