Participation in the Seminar and Annual Meeting of the EUROSAI Working Group on Municipality Audit (WGMA)
Representatives of the State Audit Office participated in the Seminar and Annual Meeting of the EUROSAI Working Group on Municipality Audit (WGMA) held on 16 and 17 September 2025 in Riga, Latvia. The Annual Meeting brought together participants from 22 countries. The main topic of the seminar was the role and influence of Supreme Audit Institutions on the implementation and development of regional policy. The seminar featured a series of informative presentations in which auditors from Greece, Hungary, Georgia, Estonia, Italy, Israel, Lithuania, Latvia, Montenegro, Poland, Serbia and Slovakia shared their experiences on regional development.
At the Annual Meeting of the Working Group, activities for 2026 were proposed, paving the way for strengthening future cooperation. Topics for newsletters and specialized seminars (master classes) seminars that are held regularly throughout the year, have been proposed.
Also, a new activity was launched - awarding/recognition of the best audit of a local self-government unit in 2024/2025. In addition to the four permanent members, the State Audit Office of the Republic of Croatia, together with the Supreme Audit Institutions of Greece and Poland, was selected as a rotating member of the first expert panel for the awards.
