PARTICIPATION IN THE TAIEX INTPA WORKSHOP IN THE LAO PEOPLE'S DEMOCRATIC REPUBLIC
Employees of the State Audit Office Martina Jurjević, Assistant Auditor General for Audit of EU Funds, and Mia Garma, Head of the Department for International Relations, officially visited Vientiane, Lao People's Democratic Republic, from 11 to 14 November 2025, as external experts, at the TAIEX INTPA workshop, at the invitation of the European Commission.
The aim of this activity was to support the State Audit Organization of the Lao People's Democratic Republic in strengthening its capacities in the areas of performance auditing and the International Standards of Supreme Audit Institutions (ISSAI). In addition to Croatian experts, French experts in performance auditing also participated in the aforementioned workshop.

The aim of this activity was to support the State Audit Organization of the Lao People's Democratic Republic in strengthening its capacities in the areas of performance auditing and the International Standards of Supreme Audit Institutions (ISSAI). The contribution of the Office's employees included:
- Presentation of the State Audit Office of the Republic of Croatia, its place in the institutional framework and international cooperation.
- Detailed presentation of the main working methods of the State Audit Office, including procedures and tools for different types of audits, with an emphasis on performance auditing.
- Lecture on ISSAI 3000, especially in the section:
- conducting the performance audit
- reporting on audit results
- practical application of standards in the State Audit Office.
- Presentations of several case studies, through which participants were shown specific audit procedures:
- Implementation of activities from Priority Axis 7 Connectivity and Mobility of the Operational Programme Competitiveness and Cohesion 2014-2020.
- Impact of the JASPERS program initiative on submitted project proposals of the Republic of Croatia for co-financing from EU funds
- Use of funds available from the Recovery and Resilience Facility (AGILE audit).
- Exchange of practical experiences, answering questions and participating in discussions, with the aim of strengthening the capacities of Lao auditors.
